Whale

A huge thanks to Lyndy for going through the trouble of putting all the photographs taken the other day on the little outing to One Utama to catch the film that has robotic noises all throughout the movie. Although I also did realize that you removed the "embarrassing" pictures of yourself. Hey! That's no fair!

I would say Wall-E is the kind of show that I would take my kids (if I had any) to watch. I mean, it's just one of those Disney Movies with a genuine message behind it. Great one for the kids! Oh, and I did NOT know that Wall-E was an "emo-shmeemo" movie! All I could tell from the trailer was that humans weren't on earth anymore and I thought there was a whole "I Am Legend" thing going on that wiped out the human race. LOL. And when I saw that white robot that landed on earth, I thought the Aliens wanted to take over planet earth or something and Wall-E was supposed to stop them. What was I supposed to think!? That robot had cannons that could fire lasers from its arm!

Evil I say. Evil.

Another random Wall-E fact!
Did you know when I saw the name when it was first on the trailer, I could not pronounce it? I thought it was pronounced "Wa-lle" or "Whale" or even just "WALL" because at one point I just gave up on the "E". I then thought to myself, what in the world happened to the creative people at Pixar studios? I only realized a few months later when Natalie said to me "I wanna watch "WALLY! SOOO CUTEE the little robot!" did I realize the way it was supposed to be pronounced.

So! Apart from unleashing our inner-child, we had a pretty quick meal at T.G.I Fridays after-which, we headed to "The Rainforest" (that part of One Utama with the local bred koi fishes that would make my Dad, the koi enthusiast go "cheh, local one" LOL.) to take pictures. Due to the fact that my better half wasn't able to join us, I had to beremo-shmeemo as I watch the other two couples of G11 take their lovely shots beside the waterfall. Here are some of the photos.

Shot of us on the Sky Bridge

Just because my friends are make me laugh so much and they fuel my hyper-o-meter, I shall attempt to return the favour by posting up a few pictures that are laugh-worthy XD Hope you guys don't come after me after this.

If Ethan Chong Nge Seong were a pole-dancer..

My oh my.
This is what you get when you leave Sheng Loong alone with a camera.

Ethan's "gatal smile"

That's what happens when Sheng Loong is lying in you. LOL.

And now for a little interesting scenario that I put together with the excessive number of Estee and Sheng Loong photos. So once upon a time...

Sheng Loong: ROOOARRRR!!!
Estee: BURST! Behave yourself Brother Bear. GO TO YOUR ROOM!

Sheng Loong: *drops flat on bed* GROWL....meh.

Hahahaha I found that rather hilarious. he..he..he..

So it being the 25th of August, the Chemistry Common Test 3 is finally here and I could not be more nervous. I really hope all that studying is going to pay off. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and praying hard that it all turns out well. Best of luck to the rest of my G11 mates in this test =)

A Compilation of Random Pictures

The 2nd Semester Term Break holidays are just about over so I thought I'd do a little post to conclude it all. Okay, I guess I can't really summarize the whole holidays because well, I didn't really do much. Other than staying inside being buried under Chemistry Notes and exercises. Do I regret it? Well, not really, but I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that I do alright this Tuesday on the upcoming Common Test 3. I would be extremely gutted if I didn't do well.

Oh look, I just had my first Coca-Cola in quite some time this afternoon. Sweet =D haha okay maybe my last for another few months. The stuff has this weird taste that leaves this strong sweet taste in my mouth.

I'm still waiting for the pictures of the other day when I headed over to One Utama to catch Wall-E with some of my classmates. So I shall post up some pictures that I have yet to upload til today.

OOO Check this out. This is my class in Standard One. Find me! Click on the picture to enlarge. I've come a long way since then. To be honest, I cannot really recall many memories of mine from Standard One. I remember being a chubby little kid thats all. I also remember that I was in Sri Kuala Lumpur and the school didn't really leave me any memories that I would consider as "precious".

Here are Mike and Shaun after a rock-climbing session quite some time ago at Camp 5. My oh my don't they just look so alive =D That place has some really cool changing rooms.

Shaun

Mike

Here's a huge part of G11 that took part in the Mathematics Olympiad that err.. we had loads of "fun" competing in.

I think some of you Christian brothers and sisters out there may have heard about the recent news surrounding one of the most well known and looked upon men in Christian society. And one of the people that I myself, personally look up to. Did Mike Guglielmucci REALLY fake terminal illness?...but...

..WHY?

Lethargy

I woke up on the wrong side of the bed yesterday. Just another one of those days. Didn't quite feel myself throughout. I think the people around me could tell. You know I actually went over to Ethan's place with a bunch of my closest friends but I ended up not "hyper-ing" with them and sitting in the corner on the computer with Assassin's Creed. LOL. Okay regardless of whether it was Assassin's Creed, I still didn't feel myself. It was like some unexplained tiredness felt throughout my body the entire day. And when I got home, it turned into something of a throbbing headache. Arghh..

Hoping that today will be different

Retractable Blades and Badminton Rackets

That girl is so DANGEROUS,
That girl is so DANGEROUS,
That girl is a BAAAAAD GIRL.

That girl is so DANGEROUS,
That girl is so DANGEROUS,
That girl is a BAAAAAD GIRL.

The song is ringing in my ears. I just heard it just now in the car and when I close my eyes, Akon's helium-like voice is still there. NOTICIN YOUU... NOTICIN MEEE.. I'm starting to rekindle my passion and appreciation for the music genre known as hip-hop. LOL. And that song actually has a pretty catchy beat to it.

The two hours of futsal yesterday was a huge let down. Our tactical, skillful play switched back to the old rough, IN YOUR FACE kind of game. Wasn't very enjoyable at all.

But hey! Shaun spent the night over at my place for some brotherly bonding with my brother and I. Hey girls aren't the only people who have sleep-overs. Only difference is that, it's called a "geek-party" not a "sleep-over" when guys do it. Anyway, Shaun brought along a friend of his.

Meet Mr. Xbox 360 =D

The two of us had a good time with Mr. Xbox 360. We got to learn the ways of the assassin in Assassin's Creed, we exploited the realness of football in Winning Eleven 8, but we got ticked off because Call of Duty 4 wasn't functioning properly. Gahh.. I've been meaning to play Assassin's Creed for ages! I've watched the trailer a gugillian times but never got the chance to play because my Ps2 has officially been outdated. And now that I've finally played it, (with Xbox 360's beautiful graphics and all its splendour) it has definitely not let me down. AWESOME STUFF!!

Gorgeous!

The coolest weapon since the invention of the M16

Procrastination looms over me. It's been a rainy day today and the coolness of the air around the Klang Valley just takes away that mood to study. But hey, I started off the day waking up on the wrong side of the bed and dragging myself to college. Yeah, I'm sure most of you know how hard is it to get out of bed during a rainy day. Licking your own elbow is so much easier. What am I doing in college on school holiday? I just went back to a college filled with A-Level students to get started on my group's Economics Assignment. And to my surprise, I got to meet Joanne and Lyndy there as well. We then headed to a mamak for a drink where I got to sink my teeth into some glorious papadum. 2 Ringlets worth to be exact. Oh random fact! Did you know papadum actually has fibrous content? Meaning the ingestion of papadum would result in a nice comfy visit to the bathroom =D oh yeahh.

Who needs Pringles, Lays, or Twisties when you've got papadum

After that, I got to have lunch with a certain someone whom I have yet to see for a few days now. So the meeting up with her was nothing short of a breath of fresh air =)

Craving for Futsal

Beebo is at the workshop now getting serviced and I'm currently stuck inside for the third day in a row of the holidays. It hasn't been such a bad thing though, because I've really gotten the chance to brush up on my Chemistry. Not that a lot of difference is made, but still. At least the effort is there. And I've been very frustrated at the fact that Blackboard 7 is down yet again. It's like a daily thing for BB7 to crash at least once. Thus, disabling me from obtaining my notes and exercises. It's annoying really.

I haven't thoroughly planned what I'm gonna do for the holidays yet, but I've told myself that studying is going to be the most important element that I have to focus on. My sincerest apologies to Henri, Lyndy, and the rest of the gang for not being able to head down to Klang with you guys. I would really love to if I could, and reminiscing about the fun times we had during our last trip is telling me that I'm so gonna regret making this decision. I'll be looking forward to another time where we'll all get to hang out again, without thoughts of studies and tests looming over our heads. DIE S.A.M, DIE!

The green turfs of futsal is calling out to me. Good thing is that I'll be playing a double dose of futsal tomorrow night! That's two hours of football heaven =D I can't wait. I've got a craving to hit the back of the net. Now that's getting into the holiday spirit!

That's the Spirit!

What do you get when you cross a shuttler who is in top form and has his home country cheering him on from all angles, with another shuttler who has been a noble sportsman who plays with a heart of gold, backed by a number of fans, that well, cannot compare to that of his opponent.

You'd get what expected to be a very close-knit, competitive game, but turned out to be a pretty one-sided, or should I say, Ownaged, Tapau-ed encounter. But hey, I have nothing against Chong Wei or his performance because you could just tell from the look and the determination on his face that he was giving it his all. I mean, you're up against a dude in his home country with fans all around the stadium chanting out his name over and over. I bet he would've wanted to just shout at their faces but no, he kept his cool, played his game, and brought home a silver medal.

Malaysia Boleh!

Lightning Bolt

The hype of the Olympics has been really getting to everyone these days. It's like worldwide pandemic! But that's a good thing because it just brings the world together regardless of all these religious, political, racial, and other beliefs.

Okay, I wouldn't say that I'm someone who's very into it, but I have to say that yesterday's 100m mens finals was simply amazing to watch. The 100m dash just goes by like that and before you know it, its over. And the winner is crowned as the World's Fastest Man. If you have yet to watch it, it's about time to You-Tube the video and check it out for yourself as Usain Bolt emerged as champion. Yes, that's the guy whom we had to calculate the probability of him breaking his own World Record. And he did do it, with a lot of style might I add. Kind of like one of those celebrations a footballer does after he scores a goal. Would you just look at that huge gap between him and the rest of the pack? Need I say more?

A Week Off from the Old Routine

The holidays have just kicked off with the sound of Mrs. Kalpana ending our Biology lesson with her usual Friday line "Have a good weekend".

I've told myself that I'm really going to put in all the effort i can into my weaker subjects like Math and Chemistry this holidays. I've got a lot of lost ground to cover. However, I'm convinced, due to the recent success of the Mathematical Studies Common Test 3, that it is not impossible to achieve the impossible (if that makes sense). It's true! So that's been a real push for me into the right direction.

Aside from that, I managed to submit applications for a few Universities today.
1. The University of Adelaide
2. The University of Melbourne

3. The University of Sydney
4. The University of South Australia

Yeah, as you can see, most of them are Universities from the ever-popular, "Group of 8". Basically my Dad just wants me to secure a place in a University that's well known by the World. Among the Universities that I've applied for, I think I'd be most interested to get into The University of Adelaide. Other than the fact that my Mummy went there to further her education, I've got some relatives over there who may be able to help me if I ever wind up in any sticky situations. LOL. It just sounds so, me to end up in those kind of situations doesn't it? The range of Universities above have VERY HIGH STANDARDS by the way. So I'll definitely have to pick up the pace if I can even think of entering those Universities.

So, its into the holidays right now, and I think I've got time to do this Tag that Karyan just shot at me. So here it goes.

Mummy I want a Toy

This is my definition of the coolest thing ever right now.
The Stealth Launch Batmobile with Bat-Pod

I never thought I'd want a toy this badly at the age of 18. But I mean, just look at it. Isn't it the coolest thing you've ever seen? You can actually store the Bat-Pod inside the Tumbler, and when you hit a switch, it launches out! VERY COOL. Here's the spoiler.. it costs 209 ringlets at Toys"R"Us =(

Mulan's Birthday

On the 11th of August, we celebrated the birthday of someone whom I've been keeping so close to my heart. Happy Birthday Natalie Ang Sue Li!

What did we do? Well, on Sunday night we had this little dinner gathering at One Utama with some of her closest friends. And to be honest, even if I was the odd one out, because I barely knew half of the people that day, I still had a really really good time. Guess it's something you do when you care for someone. You naturally get the ability to blend in and try to get to know their friends better =D We had a feast at Shogun that did indeed satisfy Nat's and my cravings for chunks of raw sashimi. In the words of Natalie, "We shall wipe out the salmon population together-gether" =D I am in love. By the way, picking out a present for someone most dear to you is really something difficult to do. And me being me, I just can't do things the way other people do sometimes, so I usually like to come up with weird ideas for doing stuff like giving gifts to her. Let's just say I gave presented her with her gift in a.. unique way (I hope you liked it).

This was at her little birthday celebration at Swensens

Here's a portrait of her in cartoon form

Nat and myself at the dinner

OOOHH yeah.. This was the only picture of the food that I got before some guy stopped me. Apparently I'm not allowed to take pictures of them. Why!?

Nat and her "SISTA'S"

Nat and Yee Lian

Melvin and Lai Wah

Yee Lian and Max

The whole group

That's everyone =D

My hands look horrible next to hers' don't they?

Nat and I at lunch on her birthday

By the way, Nat is also my "study buddy" for Mathematical Studies. Yeah, Mr. Chong started this whole buddy system thing after the atrocious results we got for our mid-year papers. Might I add that I almost failed the mid-year paper. So I took the chance to team up with someone who's been such a huge inspiration to me to strive hard for what I want. She also brings about this whole "healthy competition" thing. Anyway, we took our Common Test 3 a week ago and finally received our results today. Check this out.

Believe it.
(I can't believe I Aced my math!)

Look! We got little mice stamps!

So all in all, it was a really memorable occasion. Not because of all the jokes and the laughs. But it's that indescribable joy that I felt when its a day that I see Natalie with a smile on her face throughout one whole day. Now that's something to be happy about =)

Sunday afternoon

It's Sunday and the Sun couldn't be shining any brighter outside. I mean it literally is burnin'. So anyway, I should be revising my Chemistry right now, but I'll get to that in a little while. Thought I'd just write a little update regarding that earlier post of mine entitled, The Truth.

So the post basically sums up two kinds of people in society these days. Thank you for all your responses. So here's what the truth is. Most of you have probably already figured this out, but those two people are actually both two sides of us. It's just we tend to lean over to one side more than the other, but those two sides have an equally important impact on the way we portray ourselves. A little too much of A won't do us any good, and too much of B wouldn't do us any good either.

As for me, most people would agree that person B is the person who reflects who I am the most. This isn't entirely true though, as there are times where I just can't release those emotions that I think would be better if I just hide away from the world. To say that I'm scared to do so, wouldn't be entirely true. Let's just say I'm afraid of the ripples of my decisions. I shall just leave it at that.

Olympic fever is spreading like wildfire right now. And I caught the Opening Ceremony just a couple of days ago with my G11 mates in Murni, SS2. It was nothing short of spectacular. Seriously, they managed to put on a World Class performance and I think pretty much the entire planet was left with their mouths gaping in awe as the Chinese put on an amazing show.

Spectacular

Some of the people there. There wasn't really a proper shot of everyone. Daim, the food and the ceremony distracted all of us.

"Roti Hawaian" This is proof that Mayonaise goes well with anything!

Time for me to get back to my Chemistry Revision. Have a great day readers =D

Oh by the way, I'm curious, how many of you know the names of at least 3 of our Malaysian athletes representing our country in the Beijing Olympics?

Malaysia Boleh!

Not so happy after all

You know what makes me happy?

It's whenever I get responses, replies, and feedback from anyone who's reading my blog. I mean, when I read your replies guys, it really feels as though I'm getting through to all you readers out there. Right now, I seem to be only getting responses from a handful of people. Here's to you Natalie, Shaun, Melissa, and Henri for always responding whenever I post something new. You guys are awesome. Anyway, this poor response just makes me feel as though blogging is no different from shouting my thoughts into an empty echoing tunnel only to hear my own voice resounding into the distance. It makes me think whether I should just stop doing it sometimes.

Speaking about happy line just expired! I am so bummed about it. I mean, yeah sure I haven't made long calls in a while, but my happy number gave me the power to talk for 45 minutes with people for a mere price of 99 cents! Argh.. now I have to buy a new sim-card online for 30 bucks X) Not-so-happy after all indeed..

What else makes me happy?

A lip-smacking good lunch with a Manhattan Seafood Platter for Two smack right in the middle of the table and a few of my closest G11 mates all around. Yeah, that sounds pretty good right now. We actually had that little lunch outing a couple of days ago. Aren't the things we do each time one of our classes gets canceled amazing?

Good stuff.

Susan and Huey Ren

Nat and Nick

Chitra, Sheng Loong, Mei Yin, and Joanne

Speaking of canceled classes, classes for everyone at Taylor's was cut short yesterday due to a charity event that was taking place. So it was stalls, stalls, and more stalls, crammed into the tiny space that is the Taylor's campus. The students had to practically make do with every bit of space that they had. Oh well, all in the name of charity! G11 set up a little stall that sold some VERY SWEET drinks, homemade cookies, and potato wedges smothered in excessive creamy mayonaise (the person who thought of this idea is a genius) And obviously to start up the stall, we had to do some shopping to get the stuff we needed, so that's when Ethan, Susan, Natalie, and myself hopped on over to Tesco to do a little grocery shopping!

Susan and Ethan

Nick and Nat

Chocolate Daim Cake at Ikea Cafe

Young people these days and all their sugar

The Queen of Fries in all her splendour

This just doesn't do justice to the word "groceries" doesn't it?

That trolley of stuff may not look like much, but guess what? G11's stall managed to scoop up a sum of 650 ringlets. That's what I'm talking about ;)

The Truth

Who's the better person?

Person A is someone who swallows up his emotions each time he's faced with some uneasy feeling or problem that's related to the people who are closest to him. He has his reasons for doing so of course. Well, his relationship with these people just means so much to him that he wishes not to change the way things are going, in other words, he just doesn't want to "rock the boat". He's the kind of guy who really likes to keep everything to himself. He doesn't want to of course, he's just really afraid that people will take what he has to say in the wrong way. So he goes about just carrying the burden of his heavy heart inside of him and acting as though everything's alright with a smile on his face. People adore him of course, because he's so much fun to be with. He acts as though he has no worries, not a care in the world. But deep down inside, is he happy?

Person B is the kind of person who's extremely open about things. You could say he's one of those people who keeps no secrets from the world and the people around him reads him like an open book. Each time he's faced with a problem, there he goes, off to his friends or girlfriend to release his emotions. This however, doesn't always tend to go the way he wants it to go. In the process of pouring out his emotions and feelings, he sometimes says things that may hurt the people closest to him. He means no harm, he may even just want a small change. But because at times, the people closest to him does not see things the way he does. He ends up rocking their relationship at times. Person B is honest and that honesty that he shows just glows and he inspires the people who look up to him, but not everyone may react to honesty the way they want them to.

So, which one do you think is the better person?
Who do you think more closely resembles me?
And most importantly, who do you think is the character portrayed by YOU?

Lok Lok

I've been spending my miserable whole day since 11:00am in the morning sitting right here on my desk going through Maths past year papers. You could call me the kind of person who always does things at the last minute. Okay, not everything, but you get the idea. The final Common Test for Mathematical Studies is coming up in a couple of hours and I can never really tell myself that I'm fully ready for it. I don't know why. I guess it applies to all my other exams as well. I can never ever say that I'm fully ready. Guess that's why I didn't get the grades I wanted for the Biology Common Test. Yeah I got my results back on Friday. A 40 out of 50. It may look nice, but hey, it isn't an 'A' grade. It all boils down to simple silly mistakes like mentioning "heat receptors" when I should've mentioned "thermoreceptors". Sad isn't it? Well, right now I'm just hoping not to fumble and make silly mistakes in this Math paper. I blanked out and left half the paper blank for the last test during the Mid Year Examination (I'd very much like to blame it on stress and a lack of sleep, but I shall not) and I am keen not to repeat that same mistake again.

On to more random things, I ate Lok Lok for the first time today *the whole world goes GASP* When? We'll, one of the neighbors had a little gathering thing for the people on my street (we have these every month or so) so the uncle actually invited a Lok Lok truck. I've always stayed away from Lok Lok, being brought up by my mum to believe that it is an unhealthy food due to the sharing of the boiling water and stuff like that. Oh well, I'm blogging about it because I feel it is a groundbreaking experience =D

I would bet that when you read this post you'll be asking yourself why you've just wasted a few minutes of your time. Sorry readers, I just feel so restless sitting here all day doing Math. It's like its Statistics EVERYWHERE! The sound of "the null hypothesis can blablabla confidence interval probability distribution lalala" is ringing in my head. Goodnight readers. I'm going off to bed in a while to get enough oxygen in my brain for tomorrow's test. I need to play futsal.

If I were a dog..

A dog is known to many as "man's best friend", yeah sure, but then there are dogs like Rainbow who are more than that. She's family =D She's even got her own Chinese name! Can you believe it? It's Rainbow Cheong Li Shearn. And well yeah I have to admit that being all busy these days is making me neglect her at times. But she's never changed. She still runs up to greet me each time I come home. She still wags her tail so happily each time I look at her. And most of all, she has that face that she shows you each time she wants something that will make you melt into this pool of emotional gooeyness. Aww man, she never fails to make me feel guilty. And I can't take it anymore. And thus, I have made a pledge to myself that I shall spend more time playing with her and rubbing her belly!

Now, what made me realize all this and want to make a change all of a sudden? Well, you know when we people do things, it's always right to consider how the decisions we make will affect other people. What the effect of all this is to the people around us and closest to us. We tend to put ourselves into their shoes. So, I thought to myself, and well, put myself into the paws of a dog =D

If I were a dog, I would have to be a Chow Chow.

Yeap a Chow Chow, that huge ball of fluffy-ness and that round face. Some people have even said I look like one. But yeah, I have still failed to see it they do. They said it has those "sepet" eyes when it smiles and that huge nose. Hahaha. Call me Nicky the Chow Chow. It has a nice ring to it. Wow, I'd be sleeping around all day. Doing nothing but annoying my owners to play with me. But yeah, if I were treated the way Rainbow is by me, I would definitely be all emo-ed up. Aww, and to make my owner realize my emo-ness, I'd stare at him/her with my adorable sepeted eyes, all watered up and glowing. Hahaha they'll definitely fall for it. Oh and I'd also eat those canned "wet-food" instead of the conventional dog food that are dry and can be mistaken for breakfast cereal. I prefer my food all moist and tender. Yumm.. Ah, I'd be so joyous, without a care in the world =D

So anyway, I'm gonna make a change. I'm going to start treating Rainbow a whole lot better. Thanks Natalie for making me realize this. I now know how fortunate I am to have someone like Rainbow. To everyone out there who has pets, just take a minute or two out of your busy schedules and..
take a walk in their paws

Feel The Heat

Hello one and all! Here's some updates about the week that just went by. First of all, it's been an excruciatingly hot week. I mean seriously, the sun has been shining down on the people of Malaysia at full swing. So hot to the extent that those breaks during college are starting to feel like a chore. Sometimes I just feel like sitting in class in the cool air conditioning throughout them. I shall start wearing shorts to college next week.

Okay maybe this picture is exaggerating things a little. But you get what I mean don't you?

Oh well, things are pretty much the same in college. Guess what? I've made a promise to myself to start drinking milk for breakfast every weekday morning of this month. PLAIN MILK. Not of that from a chocolate or strawberry cow. Why? Well this whole thing kicked off yesterday when Sheng Loong and I shared this Huge carton of HL Milk and I thought to myself, "DUDE you're big.. I wanna be big too!" and he replied, "My mummy ask me to drink more Milk every morning" Thus is the influence guys have on each other. LOL. I'm kidding.

My solution to shortness!

So shall we turn our attention to some University related issues? University applications are just around the corner. One week to be exact. And everyone's running around trying to get as much info as they can about the Universities and stuff. And it's typical of MOST South Australian Matriculation students to give the same answer if you ask them the question, "where are you going next year to further your education?"..."err, I want to go Melbourne U" =_=.. why is it stereotyped in all SAM students minds that Melbourne U is the best University of all time? And it's as though people who go elsewhere are just students who don't have the brains to get into Melbourne U? Some people can be such pea-brained creatures sometimes..

Justice is served

Yeah!! I finally managed to satisfy that craving for a Caesar Salad from Friendster Cafe! Just look at it in all of its green splendor. Can't you taste its sweetness? I cannot wait to go back there again to get more! =D I'm one happy shmappy boy.
